Sandy has arrived!
Today when we got to school we received a little yellow package from the office. Guess who was inside – SANDY!!!!!! Sandy is a little brown otter, sent by our blogging friends Class P6 S/J and their teacher, Mr Johnston, from Sandaig Primary School in Scotland.
Everyone was very excited to finally see Sandy, it seemed we had been waiting for ages. We took photos of Sandy and us, everyone wanted to hold her to say “Hello”.
A big THANK YOU to Mr Johnston and the Sandaig P6S/J kids, we promise to take care of Sandy and show her all around our school and community.
Sandy is extremely cute and cuddly. We didn’t realize that otters had such large whiskers and we LOVE the fluffy white fur around her mouth.
Sokeina and Momtahina have found out some information about Otters:
-
otters have long, slim streamlined bodies of grace and flexibility
-
they have short limbs
-
they have webbed paws
-
they have sharp claws to grasp prey
-
fish are their primary diet
-
some otters eat small mammals and birds
-
otters have special adaptations to live in very cold waters
We look forward to sharing pictures with you and Skippy. Thanks again.

Yay! I’m always first to comment. Sandy is so cute! The pictures are pretty blurry though. We were so happy today because Sandy arrived. Everyone wanted to touch her, and take photos with her. I wonder where she is right now, is she still in the classroom? Or is she with Ms Pericles in her bedroom?

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say thank you for letting me sit in your ‘blogging’ class today. It was a lot of fun and I also learned some interesting stuff by watching you guys at work.
I see you have listed five fab things about yourselves so I thought I would add five of my own -
1. We live with two cool cats, Pancake and Martha the Muffin.
2. I was lucky enough to go to Japan over the xmas holidays, they have the BEST toy stores with every version of all the super hero’s. They also have lots of weird and wonderful food.
3. In summer I really enjoy snorkeling down at the beach, there are lots of colourful fish down there.
4. I’m really good at running backwards. I once ran 5km backwards without bumping into anything.
5. My favourite thing to cook is green Thai curry, it’s pretty hot, but always tasty.
** Can you spot which point is not true?
Hope to see you all soon.
Connor.

Hey Conner
I think I know which one is fake!
It has to be number 4 because no one can run 5 km without bumping into anything!!

Hmmmmm……. Walking backwards for 5km without bumping into anything. Hmmmmmmm is it fake??
March 18th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
Yes, you guys got me! Although I think it would be pretty cool if they had backwards running races at the Olympic games, the athlete’s would be running off the track and falling over in the long jump sand pit! It would be funny to watch.
Bye for now.
