This was the title of yesterday’s round of The Premier’s Debating Challenge held here at school, in the Library. Our team was debating the affirmative side (which means we agreed with the topic) and Burwood Public School were the negative (which means they had to argue against the topic).
Many of the AllStars formed the audience, and we were blown away by the persuasive arguments put forward by both sides. The language used by the teams was very definite and emphatic, and was complemented by the body language of the speakers. All in all, it was hard to decide which team would win.
The adjudicator decided in Burwood’s favour, but wished that her Year 10 debaters were able to debate with the enthusiasm and passion of the students at BSPS and Burwood PS.
Congratulations to every team member – you are awesome and we are proud and impressed with your efforts 😎

Justin- The debate was the closest i’ve ever seen this year it was a fun to verse Burwood again. I versed them last year and that was another close match. 🙂
William- The debate was a very interesting and exciting thing to watch. all of the audience were so silent you could hear a pin drop. I wish could watch another one like that. 🙂
