Canberra is the capital of Australia. 

Canberra is the place that was selected to become the capital city of Australia. It was decided that Australia needed a capital city and both Sydney and Melbourne thought they were the biggest and best city so should be the capital city. Canberra was built and now this is where the federal parliament meets.

  

Cockatoos are a type of parrot  native  to Australia. There are many types of cockatoos around Australia. There is the black cockatoo and crested cockatoo. They can be found almost anywhere. They are quite big and make a raucous noise, especially when they are in a flock. 

Cyclones – cyclones are huge storms that occur in northern Australia during summer time. They are called hurricanes and typhoons in other places.

Cyclone Tracy was a terrible cyclone that hit the northern city of Darwin on Christmas Day 1974. It made 30.000 people homeless and 90% of Darwin’s buildings damaged. The winds from the cyclone reached 240 Km per hour. 65 people died in this cyclone.

    Hi. I was at a quiz night on Saturday.One of the questions was ‘What is the Capital of Austraila?’ I said to my mum and my cousin “It’s Canberra.” and so did my mum but my cousin made us put down on our sheets Sydney so we came second but at least I know for sure now.P.S how do make the little green face.It looks awesome.
