Australia has many types of rainforests but they make up just 0.3% of the total area of Australia.

In the north of Australia are tropical rainforests, and temperate rainforests further south.

Australia’s  tropical rainforests have the highest biodiversity ecosystem which means there are many, many types of animals, insects and plants in rainforests. It has taken tens of millions of years for animals and plants to evolve in their particular rainforest habitat.

“Where the Forest Meets the Sea”  by Jeannie Baker is a great story about an Australian rainforest.
