Stage 1 have been investigating transport and today we looked at sustainable air travel. We thought that we could use the wind to make  something fly. During Library lessons this term we had read stories about the wind, made kites that used the wind and sung a song about the wind.

Today we looked through books to find other forms of transport that used the wind to move.

Next we listened carefully to the instructions to build a zappy zoomer and tried to make one ourselves.

Then we had some practice attempts at throwing the zappy zoomer inside before we ventured outside to see how well they would work in the wind.

As you can see they worked very well! Our zappy zoomers went quite a long way when we threw them with the wind behind them. They used the wind to move through the air.
