Photo A Day – L – Luna Park

Standard

Luna Park first opened in 1935 and has since become an recognisable feature of Sydney’s Harbour foreshore. Located near the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the face and towers of Luna Park have become iconic to the people of Sydney, and the park itself = fun.
The Sydney Ghost Train fire was a fire that destroyed the ghost train amusement ride at Luna Park Sydney on the night of 9 June 1979. Inadequate fire-fighting measures and low staffing caused the fire to completely destroy the ride, which was first constructed in 1931.

There are lots of fun rides at Luna Park, a Big Top and Coney Island.

Luna Park’s motto is “Just for Fun!”.
